One instrument, several places to buy it

What you see here is the shop's actual inventory. The same instrument may be hanging on the wall in Boise and listed on Reverb at the same time, and stock is shared across all three. We do everything we can to keep those in step, but if someone buys the last one on the shop floor a moment before you do, we will contact you within one business day and refund you in full. We never quietly substitute a different instrument.

Your checkout hold

Starting checkout holds the instrument for 15 minutes so nobody buys it out from under you while you type. If you do not finish in that window the hold lapses and the instrument goes back up for anyone. Orders are for a single instrument at a time.

Prices and descriptions

Prices are in US dollars and can change. Sales tax is calculated at checkout according to where the instrument is going. We describe used and vintage gear as honestly as we know how, including the wear — but these are old instruments, and a photograph is not a pair of hands. If something material is missing from a description, tell us and see the returns policy.

Very occasionally an instrument is listed at an obviously wrong price — a decimal in the wrong place. We reserve the right to cancel and refund such an order rather than honour a typo, and we will tell you promptly if that happens.

Condition grades

We grade to Reverb's definitions, which the used-instrument trade has settled on as its common language. Using anyone else's scale would only invite you to guess at what we meant.

New

Sold by an authorised dealer or the original builder, including all original packaging.

B-stock

Sold by an authorised dealer or the original builder, but opened, blemished, or used in some manner.

Used

Played, and graded for what that left behind. The listing describes the wear; ring us if you want more detail than a photograph can carry.

Vintage

Used, and old enough that its history is part of what you are buying. Vintage describes the era, not the condition — a vintage instrument is graded for wear like any other used one.

Warranty

New instruments carry the manufacturer's warranty and we will help you make a claim. Used and vintage instruments are sold as described, without a manufacturer warranty — which is exactly why the return window exists. Our repair bench is here either way.
